Project 1962
Here are a few shots of my current '62 project. This is the FIRST restoration project I have ever done. Thus far I'm having a blast! Lets see:
Pan fully restored and powdercoated.
Rebuilt tranny, new M/C, lines, hoses (steel braided).
Body fully restored and painted in Ocean Mist Metallic factory Honda color.
Brand new wiring harness throughout. New fuse panel.
Custom air ride currently in the works - dual air bag front 4" narrowed beam WITH shock towers (being fabricated as we speak) - not yet installed. Custom bag setup for the rear (Not yet fabricated) - not yet installed.
Will be converted to rack&pinion due to custom air beam.
X-Drilled front discs (Porsche & Chevy bolt pattern) - not yet installed
X-Drilled rear discs (Porsche & Chevy bolt pattern) - not yet installed
I've put together a nice reliable 1776cc long block. Stock crank, Engle 110, 42x35 heads, working on a set of DRLA36Ds.
Still lots of work to be done! Needs full interior, glass all around, steering wheel, etc,etc. Hope to have it on the road for summer of '09, but I don't want to rush it, and with the current economic situation it looks more like 2010! I will post more pics as I make progress on it!

If I ever GET it done, its going to be a sweet car! lol The way this economy is going, I'm a little hesitant in making purchases for the car. Thus far at my work we're basically on a 4 day work week. Fridays we can go in and find something to do for as long as we want (up to 8hrs). Out of the 3 plants we have, on one of them, they canceled one shift, so in Plant 2, they are only running one shift. P1 still runs two shifts, and P3, which is where I work, we are still on a two shift rotation. But the future is so uncertain. No one knows what the heck is going to happen!
I just want to finish the car, so I can drive it! I'm itching so bad!!!! Does anyone have a bug I can rent/borrow for a weekend! lol
Dan!! Car is looking good. Nice to see the progress. At first I was wondering who "oldskoolbug" was, but then I saw that the color was a "factory Honda color" and I knew it had to be you!!!! Hope all works out and you get it done for this summer.

lol, I guess that was a dead giveaway! I would love to get it done for the summer! The wife is bugging (pardon the pun) me to finish the car. She thinks the mayden voyage will be hers! YEAH RIGHT!!!! As promissed, I'll post more pics as progress continues...
