Tuned Perfection Air-cooled VW Performance

Rear
Remove engine and transaxle. Problem was that the transaxle would not engage in 4th gear.
Clean framehorns. Replace brake lines.
Swap axles and tubes from old transaxle to new Rancho Freeway Flyer transaxle.
Install new transaxle with CB Performance Rhino mounts.
Inspect and recondition rear drum brake components.
Reinstall engine.
Install new 205/65/R15 tires in the rear.
Install wheel spacers as the tires hit the body mounts.
Remove screw in studs from brake drums and press in proper length studs for the wheel spacers.

Front
Remove stock width front beam and stock spindles.
Prepare and install Airkewld 4" narrowed front beam. Included shortening torsion leaves and tie rods, and installing one set of caster shims.
Install new CB Performance 2.5" drop spindles. Modify spindles to fit early backing plates.
Install wheel spacers so that the rims would fit flush against the early brake drums.
Remove screw in studs from brake drums and press in proper length studs for the wheel spacers.

Bleed brake system.
Install Empi performance shifter.

Road test and clean. Customer then drove the car home from the shop.
